This was time for me to go back to Hawaii, especially I saw a lot of posts on social media of people posting pictures of Hawaii. It has been 7 years since I am back in Kauai.

I remember a while back my friends asked me why do you love Hawaii so much? Some friends, coworkers even said it’s so boring there. But look now, all those people ended love Hawaii so much and they cannot wait to be back.  It’s funny how people can assume something when they are not even experiencing it yet.

When I think about Hawaii, a few things come to my mind.  It has been lush, tropical beaches, great hospitality.  There is one of the particular islands that I love the most is Kauai. It reminds me so much of dinosaur times,  There so much green, and the scenery looks like we come back in time before humans arrived.

Kauai used to be a very exclusive island where only locals from different islands will travel there.  There weren’t a lot of tourists or resorts back then.  But now thanks to social media, it becomes one of the famous travel destinations.  However, some local Hawaiians I spoke to, don’t like the idea of their island is turning into a popular spot.

There are two beaches you must visit or stay on. They are called Poipu and Hanalei.  They are white sandy beaches with beautiful turquoise water.  Also, Kauai is well known for surfing. There are a lot of surfers on this island.  If you are a beginner, it’s a great place to learn.

We stayed in Sheraton Resort in Poipu beach.  I highly recommended you stay here.  We have access right to the beach, beautiful beachfront pool, amazing sunset.  It’s a great location for food as well such as The Plantation House by Gaylord’s, The Beach House, Daddy Os restaurants.

If you are a coffee lover, you will fall in love.  Kauai coffee is one of the world’s best.  You will find coffee shops everywhere.  So, don’t go to Starbucks :).  You can check out the Kauai Coffee Plantation and do a little tour and of course, get to taste all different kinds of coffee there.

Tropical Fruit on this Island is endless.  You can eat good kinds of stuff like papaya, soursop, mangosteen, mango, coconut…etc. The best time to go is from June to September.

Of course, we can’t miss Waterfalls.  Whether you are a beginner or an extreme hiker, there is a waterfall to fit your need. In fact, you can drive it there too.

My favorite luau is actually here “The Smith’s Garden Luau”. It’s a family business and has been operating since 1961. It’s a best of all Luau I have ever been to.

Outdoor Activities are also endless.  You can do snorkeling, ziplining, kayak, helicopter tour..etc.

I recommend you do the helicopter tour to get a closer look at the Na Pali Coast but you can also hike it there. It can be hard if you want to hike till the end to see the waterfall.

Did I mention, there is a beautiful Canyon you can visit too.
I can say enough how great this island is.  if you want a true Hawaiian experience culture, you must go to Kauai.  it’s so breathtaking and beyond beautiful.  Enjoy some pictures below.
